Scope and Content
The principal strength of this collection is travel memorabilia.
The collection consists of travel ephemera from Europe, Alaska, Mexico, Central America, and the United States. Included are ships’ newsletters, passenger lists, menus, receipts, travel guidebooks, hotel bills, messages, accounts of gifts bought, retail vendor information, letters of introduction, tour brochures, train timetables, road maps, tourist maps, mileage charts, currency converters, journal publications, and souvenir realia.
Ephemeral documents are included from everyday life in California in the 1920s-50s, then Arizona in the 1950s-70s.

Biographical Information
Ruth Horel Caskey (1895-1980) was born in Arcata, California. She received a BA degree from University of California at Berkeley in 1917 and a Masters in Dental Pathology in 1918. She traveled out of the country widely in the 1920s and 1930s, and around the United States in subsequent years. She married Dr. Charles Rice Caskey in Oklahoma City in 1920. They divorced in 1942. Mrs. Caskey continued as a social worker, a position she had taken in 1931.
Caskey relocated to Tucson in the 1950s. She worked with popular psychologist David Seabury from 1944 until his death in 1960.
