Scope and Content
El Periquillo: Diario Poetico de la VI Feria Mexicana del Libro was a daily publication of the sixth Mexican book fair, which took place in 1954. It was published by the Confederacion Nacional de Organizaciones Populares (C.N.O.P.). The publication contained an engraving of an animal or insect with a related poem on the front page. There was an editorial concerning Mexican culture inside the front cover, original poetry, articles and daily fair schedules within El Periquillo. There was also a caricature of an author, personality, or event in the center section.
This collection contains issue numbers 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 13, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26 from the second volume of El Periquillo, dating from November 24, 1954 through December 15, 1954.
