Scope and Content
The collection consists of one scrapbook compiled in an old Kansas state government directory. The scrapbook includes newspaper articles related to McGuinness' schooling at St. Mary's School, operated by Immaculate Conception Parish in Albuquerque, New Mexico. About two-thirds of the scrapbook consists of witticisms, household tips, and motivational stories from Albuquerque newspapers. There are also four issues of The St. Mary's Cadet, a small school newsletter.

Biography/History
Michael J. McGuinness was the son of William McGuinness. He attended St. Mary's School in Albuquerque, graduating in the class of 1904. McGuinness attended law school at the University of New Mexico and graduated in 1909. He was employed as secretary to G.S. Kloch, an Albuquerque laborer, prior to becoming an attorney, circa 1912-1913.

Abstract
The Michael J. McGuinness scrapbook contains newspaper clippings and various materials related to the McGuinness family and St. Mary's School in Albuquerque, N.M., where Michael McGuinness went to High School.
