Scope and Contents

From the Collection: The collection consists of a photograph album with nearly 500 black and white photographs taken in 1936 by H. F. Haworth on a trip through Argentina, Brazil, Chile, and Uruguay. Haworth crossed the Atlantic on the Alcantara. Locales documented include Rosario, Junin, Mendoza, Buenos Aires, the Mendoza Valley in Argentina; Montevideo (Uraguay); Sao Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and Petropolis (Brazil), and the road from Argentina to Chile.

Photographs depict scenery, locales, harbor scenes, churches, buildings, vehicles, monuments, hotels, the Mendoza Fire Brigade, trains, train stations, roads, and local scenes. Snapshots as well as commercial photos are included in the photograph album.
