Scope and Contents
From the Collection:
The photographs in this collection document the activities of the inter-tribal ceremonial festival over the first several decades of its existence (1920s-1970s), including the parades, musical and dance performances, the rodeos; and depicts the various arts, crafts, and dress of the many participating Indigenous Peoples. The collection also shows an evolving portrait of the town of Gallup, New Mexico and Red Rock Park, as well as its everyday people and visitors - coming, going, and observing the festivities.
