Scope and Contents
From the Series:
This series includes notes, collected song books, correspondence, music manuscripts, and teaching materials related to New Mexican and other folk music. Materials related to the Robb Collection of Folk Music Recordings and drafts of Robb's book, Hispanic Folk Music of New Mexico and the Southwest (University of Oklahoma Press, 1980), are also included here.

Custodial History
Note - 10/2023: Robb's own collection of field folk music reels and also a secondary set of recordings he had gathered but which were not his own work, were transferred from the FAL to the CSWR. The latter were called the - Number B Series - and contains songs # B191 to B981. All these recordings had been copied on to cassettes by Adrian Trevino. Robb's own field folk music recordings on cassettes were later reformatted to CDs and became the collection called - MU 7. These were later put on the New Mexico Digital Collection. The B Series recordings were not reformatted to CDs, are not in MU 7 and are not on the NMDC. However, the B Series printed song lyrics (B191 - B981) were placed in the Robb MSS 497 Collection - See Box 26 - B-Number, Folders 1 to 141.
In addition, the Robb field folk reels to reels were retained at CSWR but the companion duplicate cassettes were discarded after the CDs were made. Apparently at that time, many of the B Series cassettes were accidently discarded also. Hence only part of the B Series cassettes are available, which are the following: Cassette - 1963, 500-517 and 518-525 (two sided) Cassette - 1963, 526-528 Cassette - 1963, 529-544 Cassette - 1963, 544-557 and 588-584 (two sided) Cassette - 1963, 585-609 and 610-618 (two sided) Cassette - 1963, 618-632 and 633-640 (two sided) Cassette - 1963, 633-676 and 677-684 (two sided) Cassette - 1963, 652-662 Cassette - 1963, 823-831 and 832-837
