Cassettes – Recorded interviews, bulk: 2000 - 2002

 Series — Box: 8

Scope and Contents

Series 3 (Recorded Interviews) contains two boxes (the transcribed interviews are currently housed with Series 4, box 7) of interview transcripts and cassette tapes. Box 6 has 24 cassette tapes, comprising interviews with residents all along Route 66 from Illinois to California. Jane Bernard included a CD with .doc file transcripts of the interviews selected and edited for print. In Box 7, there are handwritten transcripts and notes taken by Bernard and Brown on yellow legal pads. These documents are unlabeled and not in any order.

The container box for the collected cassette tapes contains oral histories across the geographical whole of Route 66 (Illinois to California). The items listed in this repository have been digitized and published to New Mexico Digital Archives for viewing. Those items consist only of interviews conducted along Route 66 in New Mexico (Tucumcari, NM to Gallup, NM).

There are 24 cassette tapes in total.

Materials in collection not digitized may be accessed upon request.
