Scope and Contents

From the Collection: Photographs were taken by Omar Fernández, an anthropologist and cousin of Nelson Valdés. The focus is on the architecture of what is now considered "Old Havana," including the original Spanish colonial area as well as Vedado, the commercial nucleus and main residential neighborhood of Havana. Building exteriors, details, plaques, monuments, street views dominate the images.
