Army Signal Corps photographs of World War II
File — Box: 4, Folder: 4
Identifier: 000-501(8)-0030 - 000-501(8)-0160
Scope and Contents
This material was collected by Frank Kessler, who along with fellow Corpsmen, photographed their surroundings and experiences during World War II. Following Frank's death, his brother Lee discovered the photographs, and with Tony Hillerman, published a selection in the 2004 book: Kilroy was There. Many of the images have captions on the photo back; others are marked "Secret" or "Confidential." Subjects range from views of soldiers and tanks, often at work.
Researchers are advised that many images are graphic and include views of dying and dead soldiers. Some photos were not included in the publication.
UNM does not hold copyright to this group of photographs.
