Scope and Contents
From the Collection:
Edgar Forrest Wolfe's photo album documents a 1903 journey that he, his wife, and infant daughter took by covered wagon from New Mexico to California. Images are of campsites, landscapes, events, and activities along the way. Photographs from New Mexico dominate the album, with Pueblos of Taos, Santa Clara, Tesuque, Pecos, Santo Domingo, Isleta, and San Juan, depicted (including Native people and scenes). Other locations in New Mexico include Cimarron, Glorieta, Pecos, and Santa Fe. Hopi, Grand Canyon, and Painted Desert (AZ), and Los Angeles and a few other California locations are also included. A separate folder contains loose photographs that do not seem to belong in the album.
