 Archival Record — Box: 13, Folder: 3

Scope and Contents

was a series of regional linguistic atlases begun under the direction of Hans Kurath in 1939. A Rocky Mountain States atlas was planned. Pearce directed the project in New Mexico, 1950-59, but the work was never published. These boxes contain the records of linguistic interviews including biographical information on the informant and some related correspondence. Interviews are filed according to the informant's parents' birthplace. The New Mexico data forms are different than the rest and may have been collected at a different time.
