H. Chambon Estate--Clarence Iden, Assignee. A large portion of the material deals with claims against the Chambon estate., 1931-1934
Item — Item: 262
Scope and Contents
From the Series:
Gross, Kelly &Co., primarily through the agency of Clarence Iden, its president and treasurer during the 1930s, acted as receiver or trustee for a number of New Mexico companies that ran into financial difficulties mainly during the years of the Great Depression. These companies, and probably also certain individuals for whose estates Iden became trustee, apparently owed considerable amounts to Gross, Kelly &Co.--so Iden was a logical person to serve as receiver, trustee, or assignee, as the case might be. The usual pattern was liquidation after a few years of his control.
