Ruben Cobos interview cont. Begins at 00:14 and ends at 15:00. Conversation (good recording, interview cont., his study abroad, travel abroad, Cobos was given a scholarship to write a book of refranes, lived in Taos during the summer and paid the utilities, recorded refranes to write a book, refers to millionaires in Taos, retired from University of New Mexico in 1976, doesn't remember the names of his students, worked for Colorado College to collect folklore from Colorado, Dr. Cobos stated that many of his participants did not want to speak Spanish, were assimilated to the United States dominant English language, discusses the Spanish language of Mexico vs. the Spanish of New Mexico, language loss, easier to speak to children in English, some do not speak to their children in Spanish, Spanglish is easiest, language mixing, value of Spanish language, Bilingual, encourages learners to use both languages correctly, use proper Spanish and English, be literate, increased employment opportunities, make them true Bilinguals).
