Scope and Contents

Ruben Cobos. Begins at 00:02 and ends at 4:22. Apparently Cobos recorded himself singing a song over a tape with other people who were interviewed and recorded. Starts with a song (good recording, Dr. Cobos is singing and playing the guitar, La recien casada, mujer abandonada, looking for her husband who was killed by a French traitor at Valverde; El Gallo Copeton, and El Zapatero; then it goes on to an anonymous woman, poor recording, talking a long story about the madrasta, stepmother and what a girl is to do, women; followed by another woman singing, good recording, a song about a pajarito and an arbol de cereza or moro, and then another woman, fair to good recording, telling the story of the elderly couple and which one wanted to die first, until la Muerte came from them and neither wanted to die, muerte; and ending, poor recording, with a woman reciting some versos.

Anonymous woman. Begins at 4:23 and ends at 26:40. 1. Stories (fair recording, various, Pedro de Urdemalas, religious).

Ruben Salazar. Begins at 26:46 and ends at 26:59. Verses (fair recording, recites Rita, rita en el campo grita).

Anonymous woman. Begins at 27:00 and ends at 28:19. Versos (fair recording, recites several verses in Spanish).

Anonymous. Begins at 28:20 and ends at 39:43. Conversation (poor recording, unintelligible, various speakers are heard, no introductions or names given, woman telling stories toward end of recording, don Cacahuate, humor).
