Scope and Contents

Anonymous man. Begins at 00:09 and ends at 1:42, cannot determine the name of the speaker, uncertain of the place name noted? 1. History of apples, just a few comments (poor recording, begins with two men speaking, in Spanish, one man tells about la manzana de Octubre, a small apple from Mexico in use today, and about another apple from Spaniards, from time when Spanish came, would camp in the area?, settled there, those apples died out, orchards very old, fruit, he is interrupted by the others).
Scope and Contents Manuel Candelaria. Begins at 1:43 and ends at 46:09. 1. Song (poor recording, in Spanish, el arbol, song about the tree from the previous story, doesn't know who composed the song; 2. El Viejo Vilmas (fair recording, various stories, poems, conversation, men speaking over each other, discussion about Vilmas); 3. Dichos (good recording, conversation between men, sharing proverbs that they knew, child is also contributing, laughter, riddles, humor); 3. Local traditions (fair recording, death, mourning a loved one, man of the house dies, theyy also start talking about Penitentes, recording ends abruptly).
Scope and Contents Anonymous men talking. Begins at 47:29 and ends at 51:10. Rimas infantiles (good recording, local traditions, past times, children, rhymes, reciting verses, describes various games).
Scope and Contents Anonymous woman. Begins at 51:13 and ends at 58:36. 1. Verses (fair recording, in Spanish, dichos, proverbs, advice, adivinanzas, riddles, code switches into English, Spanish language, Bilingual, Spanglish); 2. Story (good recording, about a husband and wife who stop and ask for posada, lodging for the night, from a rich man, he offers the wife posada but not the husband, humor, joke); 3. Story (good recording, about a Native American, Indian man who married a Mexican girl, wedding dance, she was not a virgin, women).
Scope and Contents Anonymous man. Begins at 58:37 and ends at 60:04. 1. Adivinanzas, Part I (good recording, riddles, verses, humor, explains meaning of them); 2. Story (good recording, about a man and his sons, cuts off abruptly at end of CD, cont. on CD 488).
