Scope and Contents
Ruben Cobos. Two discs were together in one album sleeve, they were converted to one CD. One is a Presto recording and the other an audiodisc, both with two spindle holes, for recording at home. Audiodisc had two songs and Presto had one, Side B of Presto was blank. Presto, Side 1, Ruben Cobos (date is July 24, 1947, singing, without accompaniment, La Recien Casada, esposa abandonada, buscando su marido, songs has - he was killed by a French traitor en las guerras de Valverde, New Mexico, marriage, speed is a little slow, but good recording); Presto Side 2, blank. Audiodisc, Side 1, Polka, played by Jose Pena, on violin and Meliton Lobato, on guitar, from Cuba, New Mexico, no date. Audiodisc, Side B, Cutilio, played by Jose Pena, violin and Meliton Lobato, guitar, Cuba, New Mexico, no date, ca. 1949). See CD 207, where information given on these performers, Cobos also taped them in 1949, Pena was born in 1890 and Lobato in 1900, Cuba, New Mexico).
