New Mexico Folklore Society Conference, Santa Fe, May 1974 continued. Begins at 10:08 and ends at 33:08. 1. Dr. Cobos addresses the audience (good recording, announces lunch time); 2. Followed by business meeting of the Folklore Society (good recording, and short comment by T. M. Pearce, talking about folklore in academia, three funny stories of professors; John Donald Robb talking story about Juan Pinto, a Navajo singer, and song of a man planting a potato. Cobos announce positions of various members of the society, names the individuals eligible for next year's election, parliamentary procedure, election to the New Mexico Folklore Roll of Honor, etc.).

Lecture on La Sociedad Folklorica de Santa Fe (good recording, she talked about a meeting that was held to plan the fiestas de Santa Fe held in the Summer of 1935, that was how the Sociedad Folklorica was born, society Constitution and Bylaws, culture preservation, Feast of Santiago, originally membership limited to 35 women with Spanish ancestry, official meetings are conducted in Spanish, English was not permitted at meetings, traditions and days honored, feast of the Epiphany, San Antonio, San Juan, Merienda, talks about the booklet titled El tesoro, also Feast of Santiago, Corrido de Gallos, roosters, Feast of St. Anne, talk cuts off abruptly).
