Entriega de novios (recited verse of wedding, followed by song, marriage, get ready, divine music from sky, governed by godparents, four roses from sky for husband and wife, take a picture, ask for license, the name of God first and then the name of the Virgin Mary, noble company, to the parish, matrimony, priest asks them if they want to marry, they both say yes, the ring, union for eternity, parents in law, tears, goodbyes).

Juan N. Martinez, b. 1903, San Juan Pueblo, NM 1. (Fair recording). Datos personales (personal information, born June 25, baptized in San Juan de los Caballeros Church); 2. Entriega de novios (song, wedding, marriage, nine in morning, refers to Adam and Eve, priest explains rules, asks if marriage is legal, be sure not to betray God, they respond yes, wedding mass, receive communion, ring represents new sacred union, tears, goodbyes).

Simon Casados, b. 1891, El Guique, NM. (Fair recording). 1. Datos personales (personal information, born on November 16). (Today they have brought lunch to us Penitentes, including panochas, turnovers, food); 2. Rezos (Bendito, bendito, blessed, explains how a Penitente prays; makes three rays on body with rock flint, places piece of wood there, and prays rosary, rapidly, Our father, Virgin Mary, Joseph and Jesus, repeats prayers and says blessed many times); 3. Conversacion, Penitentes (This prayer was recited by Penitentes on Holy Friday, Holy Week, Semana Santa, they walk to church after this and then to morada. On Holy Wednesday, they walk covered with shrouds, three volunteer to receive whippings, called tinieblas for darkness, Thursday at midnight again conduct whipping alone, on Friday food was brought, but no meat).
