New Mexican proverbs read by Ruben Cobos from a notebook loaned to him by Mr. Mirabal, student (hundreds of proverbs are organized by type, read one after another, adverbial comparison, phrases, sayings, refraines. Included are Humor: saints, cabeza, piojos, race horse, red clothing, secrets, cookies, mescal alcohol, motorcycle, rooster, candy, deaf, sparrow, death, seated dog, spiders in eyes, parrot, flower, priest, Guatemala guata - peor. Human Frailties: God, sins, death, hope for poor, remedy, luck, love, women, metate corn grinding stone, bull, back of a saint, dog, family ties, rancho, fear, gustos, God's punishment, the Devil, women, mare filly, swim, frog rabbit, ill person, Caiaphas, dummy, jealous. Philosophical and Sentimental: sign of pain, rooster in corral, Mexican, full stomach happy heart, boogers, donkey.
