Scope and Contents

Regina Alvarado de Cata, b. 1883, Antonito, Colorado. Now at San Juan Pueblo, NM. Fair to poor recording. 1. El Atole y el Cafe (Part II); 2. Seleccion musical (Regina plays a song on her harmonica); 3. Conversacion (Regina talks of her childhood days, learned to dance by herself, did not go to school, only attended intermittently, education); 4. Conversacion (how Regina learned to play the harmonica, in Chihuahua, Mexico, she plays La Varsoviana, which she calls Puro maiz azul); 5. Conversacion (Regina said she would like to meet Ruben Cobos, and have him record her songs and stories, she talks about her books for chidren, her art works, etc. She said all Indian dances are symbolic of some part of Indian life).
