del Valle, 1970: Salvador del Valle, b. 1918, El Paso, TX. La Llorona (legend, his version it was a young unwed mother, who could not care for her three children, kills them and commits suicide herself, she is heard wailing sorry for what she did and asking for her children, he makes the wailing sound; women, family, muerte, see CD 107).
Maria L. Olivera, b. 1925, Mexico. Un suceso tocante a su madre / padre (relato, a woman tells a young man she can cure his ailing mother if he fights different kinds of animals, the young man begins but realizes it will have no end, he threatens woman into keeping her part of the bargain, the woman tells the young man that his mother will be well within three days, witch tale).
Percy Mares, b. 1914, Santa Rosa, NM. El cuero robado (an entertainer who is always on the road has a skin with which he performs all kinds of tricks, a Black African American man comes out of the skin and performs dances and acrobatic stunts, when a thief steals the skin, the Black man comes out of the skin and nearly beats the robber to death, crime, magic, moral tale).

Salvador del Valle, b. 1918, El Paso, TX. 1. Un bulto negro (relato, a mother tells her son no to go out at night because the devil is on the loose, one night he sees a figure all dressed in black, the thing comes at him and strikes him very hard but the young man manages to escape and runs home, could not identify the thing, ghost story, supernatural); 2. El esqueleto (a young man does not believe in ghosts or supernatural beings, one night he hears something like a skeleton walking behind him and his mother, both run home as fast as they can, ghost story).
Raby, 1970: Frank Lopez, b. 1915, Old Albuquerque, NM. 1. Cuerpo de oro (a poor man makes a pact with Death, gives him power to cure people, health, he is to look carefully if Death is at the feet of the patient or at his head, if at feet patient will live, the king is very sick, man goes to palace sees Death at his feet, tells king he will live, related adventures, at folk tale); 2. La casa ajena me la de, la madre es buena (Part I, a young man cutting firewood the woods, large serpent comes out from a tree trunk, asks him to take her to the king, that she is his daughter, the king gives the young man a magic ring, related adventures, folk tale).
