Moya, 1971: Harold Garcia, b. 1916, Pojoaque, NM. 1. Los santos salen de noche (people say that the statues of saints wear out their shoes because they walk at night, folk tale); 2. La tierra del santuario de Chimayo (there is a hole that is full of soil in the mission of Chimayo, many people take soil from there believing it to be holy, the hole never empties, local history, cures, miracle, relilgion, church, faith); 3. El retrato en la iglesia de Ranchos de Taos (the picture in the church at Ranchos de Taos glows at night, scientists have examined it but cannot explain the mystery, local history, religion, miracle); 4. El perico y el borracho, el wino (story of a parrot who tells a drunk drinking husband that his wife is having an affair with another man, folk tale, women).

Ortiz, 1971: Alfonso Maes, b. 1907, Las Vegas, NM. 1. El sacristan y los leperos (a sacristan and a priest overhear two robbers in the cemetery sharing their loot (peaches), the sacristan and priest think it is God and satan sharing souls, folk tale, muerte, grave yard); 2. La vaca pinta (cows meets up with a mouse and tells him you are so little and with a moustache, the mouse replies you are so big with your breasts showing, joke; another story of the priest in the church and the loud cowboy, anecdote); 3. El muchacho listo y el ignorante (a tale of an ignorant boy and how he outsmarts another boy who is reputed to be quite intelligent, education, folk tale, hunting, word game); 4. Los cazadores (two men make a bet that they can shoot a bird, one of the men stutters, the other shakes a lot, the one who stutters misses and the other hits not only the bird, but the whole tree, joke); 5. Versos (Alfonso recites poetry on how he feels about himself, life of a man, manhood, folk poetry).

Leo Archuleta, b. 1921, Las Vegas, NM. 1. Decima (Leo recites poetry that he composed about how the rich have it made and the poor have it rough in this life, poverty, folk poetry); 2. Una troca de segunda (tells us in poetry the trouble he went through for seven months when he purchased a second hand truck, in 1958, poem by his cousin Felix Archuleta, folk poetry, pick up).

Macario Herrera, b. 1895, cerca de Sapello, NM. 1. Personal Information. 1. El ermitano (relato, a story of a hermit who can read peoples' thoughts and always tells them what they are thinking, ca. 1910-1917, organized the Order of the Holy Cross, near Las Vegas, New Mexico); 2. Despedida de un amigo (a man says good bye in poetry to his friends and requests that they bury him by his parents, in the land where he was born, folk poetry, burial, death, muerte); 3. Relacion de Fort Union (Mr. Herrera reads a story written by Tom McGrath of Las Vegas, about the trail, Santa Fe Trail, and how it has figured greatly in the history of the United States, army, New Mexico, military, William Becknell, injustices, etc.).
