Lowe: Estanislao Garcia, b. 1892, Espanola, NM. 1. El que se fue a California, uno mas (anecdote, a bad wife causes her husband to go off to California, women); 2. El embolao en el carro (anecdote, when he is drunk Gabriel's wagon goes of the road, he misinterprets a neighbor's cries, drinking); 3. El compadre con la burra con burrito, burro (anecdote, a compadre gives his friend a she ass who gives birth to a donkey, grateful friend writes donkey resembles his mother); 4. El hombre del punche (anecdote, man sells local tobacco for .25 cents a manojo, cine pie y pico, play on words, language); 5. Enriques (anecdote, gossip, man says Enriques is his son, real father is offended and stops him, humor, family; 6. El hijo legitimo (anecdote, girl Pepita has a child out of wedlock, real father of child says she had a child, not him, women, children, pregnancy); 7. El hombre sin familia (anecdote, when asked how many children he has, a man of seven kids, says none, was his wife who had them, women); 8. El que entendia la lengua de los animales (folk tale, a person knows the language of the animals and always follows their advice, but it backfires).

Sandoval: Mrs. Patricio Cruz, Chimayo, NM. 1. Good recording. Cual es mas clara, la luz or la leche? (anecdote, a king is asked which is more brilliant or clear, milk or sunlight, to prove the point he is placed in a dark room with tubs of milk); 2. Los companeros borregueros, (witch story, two shepherds are warming their hands on a campfire, suddenly one realizes he is alone with a talking cat, witch story); 3. Las brujas, (witch story, returning home from a dance in Truchas, a fire ball is so persistent, it forces the party to detour around it).

La lumbre (witch storoy, mysterious fire is associated with witches, balls of fire); 3. Adivinanzas (two riddles, eggs, dogs).
