Ortega, 1969: Cleofas Vigil, San Cristobal, NM. Fair recording. A Penitente looks at the life of Jesus (Part 2).

Martinez, 1970: Sofia Martinez, b. 1907, El Guique, NM. Good to fair recording. 1. El gato (folk tale, orphan boy had a cat with magical powers who pounces and eats an evil king who had turned into a mouse, children); 2. Canciones (folk songs, in a very pleasant voice Sofia sings La linda rosa, El mundo enganoso, El vaquero en Kansas, El piojo y la liendre, Brinca la tablita, and Naranjo dulce. Last three for children, music may have been from a script); 3. La pasion de Senor Santo Dios, alabado, New Mexico penitente hymn. Good recording.

Sexson, 1971: Josie Baca, b. 1931, Corrales, NM. 1. Fair recording. El tecolote (witch story, man kills owl with bullet with cross carved on it, next day neighbor ill will gun wound, see CD 20); 2. Los amantes infieles, (witch story, daughter has a husband and a lover, when lover is at her home and her husband is about to return, girl's mother the witch makes them disappear, and husband finds only a hen and a rooster); 3. Las luces que brincaban (witch story, a man is suspected of being a wizard, at night some boys follow a fireball that turns out to be the man, balls of light); 4. Juan Sin Miedo (witch story, Juan is called upon to get a buried treasure in a haunted house, scares three ghosts in the process); 5. Un muchacho y su companero (folk tale, two travelers stay over night at a house, plan to communicate by kicking the other one on the food, plan falls apart when dog at the house steps on the foot of one of them); 6. El cuento de las dos comadres (witch story, a wife and her friend a witch, two women become owls and fly to husband's sheep camp one night, grabs his hat as proof they were there).

Rael, 1971: Jose Rael, b. 1941, Picuris Pueblo, NM. Paloma Blanca y Juan Pelotero, folk tale (Part 1, story told to Jose Rael by Celedonio Romero, Seledonio Romero, from Vadito, NM. Devil is angry that Juan discovered his cache of gold, grabs and throws Juan into the pile. After much plotting Juan and Paloma Blanca escape the devil).
