Scope and Contents
Anonymous: Andy Torres, b. ca. 1930, Center, CO, Colorado. 1. Adivinanzas (three riddles and solutions, includes el huevo and el cabresto), 2. El incendio (folk tale, as their house burns simpleton parents do not know how many children are in the house, dog saves the children and saves the fire insurance papers as well); 3. El viboron (mentira, tall tale, to rid the area of a large snake that eats cattle and even a man, Andy volunteers to capture it, one day he sits down on log not knowing it is the snake, puts his saddle on him and rides snake into town where villagers stone it to death, explanation of why there are no large serpents in Colorado); 4. Los Manofashicos (folk tale, three simpletons that are killed by a bandit); 5. Adivinanzas (riddle about tortillas).
