Banuelos: Sarita Padilla, b. 1907, Anton Chico, NM. 1. Las dos hermanas envidiosas, folk tale, continuation of Sopitas de Miel, variation of Cinderella, Part I); 2. El sentidito de oro (folk tale, poor old woman, gives grandson a cow to sell, meets some boys killing a snake, he trades cow for a snake, which has magic powers and gives the boy a golden ear).

Miranda: Max Miranda, b. 1901, Veguita, NM. 1. La borrega negra (folk tale, the black sheep or dumber one, farmer has two sons, one to college, one stays on farm, after father dies, divide up his money, a small pile of gold coins or a large one of silver coins, dumb ones take the small pile); 2. La Muerte madrina (folk tale, a doctor, his grandmother who is Death, and struggle between them over saving patients, his death in the end, medicine, muert); 3. El hermano rico y el hermano pobre (folk tale, poor brother is a real loser, rich one tries to help but poor one never takes advantage of efforts to help him); 4. Los dos compadres, rico y pobre (folk tale, humor, one asks the other how he is doing, replies he is doing well - which means taking care of his old mother, sending son to school and bringing up his daughter, women, family); 5. La manta (folk tale, the blanket, half of which a grandfather gets when his father kicks him out of the house, family); 6. Juan de Oso (folk tale, a bear kidnaps a girl, takes her to a cave, she has a baby, baby grows up and child helps his mother escape); 7. El caballero de la pluma (folk tale, a rare type of New Mexico Spanish folk tale, Medieval times, with chivalry, kings, maidens, knights and jousting, boy is given a horse in order to study in school, finds out that the horse is to be killed so the boy flees with the horse to a distant land); 8. Don Dinero y Dona Fortuna (folk tale, money and fortune compete to give the most power to a man, money gets the man in trouble, but forture brings him successes to recover all his losses).
