Cobos: Danny L' Esperance, b. 1954, Socorro, NM. Good recording. New Mexico folk songs: 1. Rosita Alvirez, a corrido (at a dance she slights her boyfriend Hipolito, resenting it he shoots her, women); 2. Juan Charrasqueado, a corrido (makes out with all the girls, until one day a the bar the relatives of his last victim kill him, women, love); 3. El hijo desobediente, a corrido (boy Felipe disobeys father, dies in fight with a rival; 4. Gabino Barreras, a corrido (he deflowers many girls, many illegitimate children, until one day comes out of a girl's home shooting Viva Zapata, and their relatives gun him down, women); 5. El dia de San Juan, corrido (St. John's day June 24, tragedy at a dance, jilted boy friend Juan kills his girl friend Michaela and his rival Simon, women, murder); 6. Flor del Rio Grande, corrido (love story of boy and girl friend named Flor, who died, women); 7. Un pobre, no mas (love song, cancion, a girl puts off her boy friend because he is poor, women); 8. Ojitos verdes (cancion, song, sung, boy's love for his girl friend with green eyes, who has left him).

Cobos: Tom McGrath, b. 1887, Las Vegas, NM. 1. Death of Black Jack Ketchum (local history, Tom knew Black Jack, Tom's grandfather Trinidad Lucero de Godoy was a friend of the train robber, Clayton, Tom spent a night in bed with the bandit, Tom has the Las Vegas prison jail cell in which Black Jack and Billy the Kid were held) ; 2. St. Vrain grist mill local history, first mill in Mora area); 3. Organizacion Mutua Protectiva (relato, story, sociedad mutualista, founded in 1923 by McGrathy, Bronson Cutting and Elfego Baca, Democratic politicians, politics, Elfego Baca forms Independent Party, Jose Montoya, Herman Baca, Jesus Baca); 4. El arresto (Delgado, Herrera, in Las Vegas, Gorras Blancas, Gonzales St., incomplete); 5. Local history (Billy the Kid, lost middle trigger finger - shot off in a bet to light a match and they beat him, Chavez y Chavez of the Vicente Silva Gang, Cleofas Romero, the judge); 6. Indita de Manuel Maes (good recording, place names, a Hispanic buffalo hunter killed on the Staked Plains - Llano Estacado - of Eastern NM, in 1873, place names associated with the indita, Canon del Rio Ocate, Canadian, Cerro de Laureano, El Chaperito, La Liendre, Conchas dam, etc.); 7 Atarque, dam (reservoir, definition, Spanish language); 8. Conversacion (reminiscence of Tom, tells of his business, sales books, check book, Madrid, NM, law books, Judge Mills, Armijo, Billy the Kid photos, La Cienega, and his friends, Alejandro Gutierrez from Santa Fe, Epimenio Martinez from Wagon Mound, Tom McGrath was borrowing money from Epimenio to take a sick boy to Mayo Clinic, loaned on his word alone; mention of Mosquero, sheep, death of Epimenio, Epimenio's derby hat, wealth, his family, Alice, Rafaelita, family).
