Barth and Castillo, 1072: Jacobo Manual Bernal, b. 1892, Ranchos de Taos, NM. 1. El lenador y su companero envidioso (folk tale, a rich man, a poor man, woodman and the magic monkeys and the money in the forest); 2. La reina Regina mato una gallina (nursery rhyme, children, Queen Regina kills the fattest chicken out of compassion); 3. El dia que te cases (good to fair recording, popular end of the nineteenth century love song for marriage, wedding, here recited); 4. El aire viejo (folk tale, a segment of the North Wind story).
Barth and Castillo, 1972: Maria Montoya, b. 1903, Taos, NM. 1. Hechizos (witch story, woman tells of her father, brother and sister who were given food that eventually killed them, as a result she will not take food in house of strangers, fear, women); 2. Curanderas (relato, story, Maria did not know any healers, but maybe could locate one in Bernalillo, no names, curandero, women).
Martinez, 1971: Miguelita Lopez, Northern New Mexico. 1. Tres hermanos y su hermanita (folk tale, same as Los Bueycitos, three boys, witch, and sister who saves them, women); 2. El pobre y los treinta ladrones (folk tale, local New Mexico version of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves); 3. Tierra Amarilla (named for yellow clay earth, value of gold found).
