Ortega: Eduplio Ortega, b. 1916, Bernardo, NM. 1. Adivinanza (riddle, about what the moon said to the sun); 2. Relato (story of man herding cattle in mountains, near Bernardo, killed by lightning); 3. Pedro de Urdemalas (folk tale, trying to win the princess, angers the king when he sells the hogs, lied that lost the pigs in the mud, tail, ears); d. Los astronomos (the astronomers (folk tale, weathermen and donkey, they fail but animal predicts rain accurately, weather, see CD 12).

Ortega: Juan Miera, b. 1888, Socorro, NM. Personal data, (autobiography, worked for railroad and as sheriff, lawman, was a good man, father was a judge).

Conrad Hilton in San Antonio, New Mexico (relato, history of how Hilton came to San Antonio, New Mexico, started empire, Hilton Hotel, mining, pony express route San Antonio to Lincoln, area coal mines, rise and decline of population, other details); 2. Las minas de Magdalena, New Mexico (coal mines, Miera worked for Emory James, as sheriff and jailer in Socorro); 3. Elfego Baca (relato, Miera tells of Baca as sheriff of Socorro and Albuquerque, death, Baca family genealogy, mention of Francisco Baca, Tomas Montoya, Estanislao Montoya, A.B. Baca, Felipe Silva, Ezequiel Fajardo, Francisco Anaya, etc.; Miera got spanking from his Dad when he beat up several boys who were whipping his brother, etc.); 4.
