Davis: Ramon Chavez, b. 1921, Albuquerque, NM. Oye, oye (anecdote, man hears voice behind him as he rides horse back to the ranch).
Davis: Mary Vargas, b. 1923, Albuquerque, NM. Las tres mudas (anecdote, the three mutes, three ranch girls and three men who are unsuitable to date them, women).
Davis: Mary Gallegos, b. 1905, Los Lunas, NM. 1. La Llorona (ghost story, used by parents to scare and discipline their children); 2. Feasts (tells of fiestas, procession for the Virgin Mary, velorio for a saint, May 3 feast of Holy Cross, La Santa Cruz); 3. Correo a caballo (relato, post office mail coming by horse, relato, story from grandfather, pony express coming from Torrance County through town of Valencia, in Valencia County; life on the prairie, Eastern plains, Great Plains, attacks by armed men on freight wagons with supplies coming into Valencia): 4. El sarape (folk tale, wife puts out her father-in-law, grandson cuts serape in half, half for the grandfather and half for his own Dad for day he will have to leave, too, family, women); 2. El rey que queria casarse con una mujer que no comiera mucho (folk tale, thin girl picked by king for his queen, later finds out her misbehavior, women); 3. El padre que queria saber cuales eran sus hijos (man with many children, tests them, only youngest his, gives him ant hill on mountainside test); 4. El que vendia maiz concho, (anecdote, a Spanish speaking seller and an Anglo American buyer who does not understand Spanish, language); 5. El hijo cicatero (folk tale, rich son denies wheat to his father, later loses everything, greed, selfishness) ; 6.
