Scope and Content Note

From the Collection: The records of the Long Term Ecological Research Program cover the years from 1983 through 2016, primarily relating to when the program was headquartered at the University of New Mexico. The materials were collected and donated by Robert Waide, who served as Director of the LTER Network Office (LNO) for many years.

The collection is organized into 14 series, with most series arranged chronologically. The series are: Committee Meetings; LNO; National Science Foundation; All Science Meeting; Manuscripts and Reprints; Science Themes; Working Groups; Network Documents; LTER Partners; Correspondence; ILTER; Related Reports; and Potential Partners.

The LNO created a filing schema for their records which was maintained by the repository. Some materials are available only electronically and those files are noted in the finding aid. Researchers wishing access should contact the archivist for access.
