Scope and Content

From the Collection: Contains photographs of mines, miners, and mining machinery at Dawson, Santa Rita, and other sites throughout New Mexico. Includes photographs previously numbered 986-017-0001-0003, 986-017-0007, 990-021-0007-0008, and 992-024-0001.

A substantial addition in 2016 includes an album of 101 photographs, assembled by an unidentified photographer. The photographs are taken in and around Santa Rita, New Mexico, and include copper pit mines, mining machinery, steam shovels, railroad cars, the blasting process, and a 1916 meeting of A.I.M.E. Most photographs have descriptive captions and are dated.
