Scope and Content
From the Collection:
This collection consists of photographs documenting men identified as public officials of New Mexico. Many of the portraits depict men who served in the New Mexico House of Representatives and Senate, however, there is also a considerable variety among those included. For example, school superintendents, city mayors, justices of the New Mexico Supreme Court, prominent ranchers and businessmen are all represented. The collection only includes one female official, Stephanie Gonzales, the New Mexico Secretary of State during the nineties. The vast majority of portraits name the men they depict, but there are a limited number of unidentified men in the collection.
