This collection consists of photographs, created in Mexico, depicting a wide variety of subjects. Notable items are portraits and informal pictures of Mexican Revolutionary War figures, folk theatre, dance, and music events, cartes-de-visite from the 19th century, and Pre-Columbian sites and artifacts.
Some famous photographers represented in the collection are Hugo Brehme, A. Briquet, Cruces y Campa, Fotografia Daguerre Studio, M. de Haaff, Guillermo Kahlo, and C. B. Waite.

Box 12 Additions: Added in 2017, this box contains recent additions to the collection. Folder 1 includes an album of 47 photographs from a January 1939 trip by American tourists. The automotive trip down the Pan-American Highway captures various tourist destinations including the Court of Quetzalcoatl, the colonial church at Acolman, Mexico City, Puebla, Acapulco, Taxco, Toluca and back to the states through Saltillo and Monterey. Also of interest are photographs of Max Meth, Mexico City Police detective and the photographer "Reilly." Folder 2 includes a group portrait of twenty members of the Communist Party of Mexico circa 1925, including David Alfaro Siquieros. Twelve individuals have signed the back of the photograph, including Manuel Diaz Lorenzo, Rafael Carrillo and Rosendo Gomez Lorenzo.

Box 12 Additions: Added in 2017, this box contains recent additions to the collection. Folder 1 includes an album of 47 photographs from a January 1939 trip by American tourists. The automotive trip down the Pan-American Highway captures various tourist destinations including the Court of Quetzalcoatl, the colonial church at Acolman, Mexico City, Puebla, Acapulco, Taxco, Toluca and back to the states through Saltillo and Monterey. Also of interest are photographs of Max Meth, Mexico City Police detective and the photographer "Reilly." Folder 2 includes a group portrait of twenty members of the Communist Party of Mexico circa 1925, including David Alfaro Siquieros. Twelve individuals have signed the back of the photograph, including Manuel Diaz Lorenzo, Rafael Carrillo and Rosendo Gomez Lorenzo.
