Landscapes and Animals, 1890-1906

 File — Box: 1, Folder: 14

Scope and Content

From the Collection: Cyanotypes by Charles F. Lummis, mostly of N.M. pueblos (especially Isleta), ruins and landscapes. Others were made in Peru, Mexico, and Guatemala. There are photographs of adobe buildings, aqueducts, bridges, churches and theaters. Especially notable are images of wine-making, a delegation of Pueblo Indians brought by Lummis to California, and an oversize cyanotype portrait of Carlotta reading "Land of Sunshine," is also included in box 1 as a photocopy.

There are also transparencies of some of the photographs in the collection, as well as a few transparencies not matched to items in the collection. These were likely made by a more recent photographer, perhaps Damian Andrus.
