Scope and Content

From the Collection: Collection contains photographs (8 x 10 in. or smaller) of Katherine Rose Wood and others related to her career in social work. Personal photos include portraits of Ms. Wood (1957-1984) and group photos with friends (1953). Photographs which deal with Ms. Wood's involvement with school testing for hearing and vision disabilities (1948-1953) include hearing and vision testing equipment and procedures, a mobile hearing unit, and the Intermountain Indian school in Brigham City, Utah. One photograph shows Ms. Wood with M.A. Otero among others at the Santa Fe Youth Conference in 1955. Photographs of the period when Ms. Wood was involved with the state commission on aging include an album entitled "Senior Citizens of New Mexico", which contains a photo of Georgia O'Keefe, as well as, taken by Laura Gilpin. Finally, one folder contains photographs of Ms. Wood with Mayor Harry Kinney, and others, taken at the New Mexico Commission on the status of women testimonial dinner in 1975 honoring Ms. Rose and D. Cline.
