Scope and Content

From the Collection: The collection contains photographs of the Arrigoni family, who were instrumental in founding the Casa Angelica facility for retarded children, located in Albuquerque; the Casa Angelica physical plant, patients, and staff; and events sponsored by the institution's Board of Directors. Events include a fundraising fashion show where prominent women in the community, including politicians' wives, had their portraits made in color modeling inaugural gowns worn by U.S. First Ladies. Collection also contains a group portrait captioned, "First Communion, St. Ferdinand School ... 1935," and one of school children in a classroom, "Falconer School Garden Club." Photographs were taken by various photographers including C. E. Redman, Dick Kent Photography in Albuquerque and Milner Studio. Prints are 25 x 20 cm. or smaller and some are color. Negatives are 6 x 10 cm and the single color phototransparency is 26 x 32 cm.
