Scope and Contents

Contains photos of the Scholes family and friends in México, photos and clippings of local life in the towns they visited, postcards, lottery tickets, business cards, and a hand written account of sailing aboard the steamer Leerdam to Vera Cruz. The areas named in the photos include Atoya, Ver., Coyoacan, Cuernavaca, Ixtaccihuatl, Metlac, Ver., Mitla, Oax., Orizaba, Popocatepetl, Puebla, Querétaro, Taxco, Tamazopo, S.L.P., Tlachiqueros, Vera Cruz, the Zacatacas Cathedral, and various scenes from in and around Mexico City, such as the Cathedral, Palacio Nacional, Zocalo, Independence Column, Juárez Monument, Casino Español, Casa de Condes de Santiago, Basílica of Virgin of Guadalupe, and Ozcapolpaca (Noche Triste).
