Scope and Content

From the Collection: Spanning 32 boxes, the Harvey Hoshour Papers contains correspondence, notes, photographs, project outlines, preliminary sketches, presentation boards, and construction documents for over 250 sites. Most projects were constructed by the Hoshour firm in Albuquerque, New Mexico, though some files contain projects completed under other architects. A copy of Hoshour’s master thesis with supplemental material collected by researchers is also contained in the collection. Project numbers preceding site are architect's own, but sometimes client project numbers are also noted.

In 2019 Mrs. Lise Hoshour made a donation of additional materials, located in Boxes 33, 34, and 35, and in the Hoshour SWA Drawings Collection. Included are presentation brochures, photographs and slides of various Hoshour-Pearson projects, such as the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, UNM Health Sciences Library and New Mexico Title Building. The boxes also contain the correspondence, final proposal and drawings for the 1987 Albuquerque Performing Arts Center, with background studies on Albuquerque cultural artistic groups and performing arts facilities in the 1980s. In addition, there are background papers on the Tom Kromer (Kromer House) - Harvey Hoshour residence in the Albuquerque North Valley. Drawings of the home and other Hoshour Albuquerque properties were placed in the Hoshour SWA Drawings Collection.
