From the Series: Abstract: 7/31/2013, 8/29/2013. In tape 1, Yazzie discusses his childhood and role of his paternal grandmother in his life. He also sheds light upon the day to day interactions between Hopi and Navajo people, and how federal legislation and policy have affected their lives. In tape 2 of interview, he continues on the history and relations between Hopi and Navajo. He concludes by elaborating on cultural practices including ceremony, and sheep butchering practices. In interview 2 tape 1, Yazzie discusses his academic and extracurricular activities as a student at UNM. He also describes the distinctions between clans and kinship and how they operate socially. In interview 2 tape 2, Wynsdor discusses Indigenous foods, KIVA Club Nizhoni Days, fraternities and the Yeii Bi Cheii (Yébîchai) Ceremony.
