From the Series: Abstract: 9/21/2012, 10/25/2013. In tape one of this interview, Cruz discusses social, political and cultural impacts on his upbringing and early education. He outlines educational disparities and intergenerational experiences of growing up in borderlands. In tape two, he discusses questions of migration and outlines his high school and early college education. He concludes with an overview of his involvement in AIM. In tape three, he looks to international movements and relates them to AIM initiatives. He addresses language shift and loss at the end of this interview. In his second interview, Cruz expands on more detailed knowledge of AIM and its key members.
