Abstract:12/17/2013. She discussed her travel experiences throughout the United States and the world (e.g., England, South Africa, Australia, Russia). Shirley also described her leadership role in the Native American Women's Association; the role her family (Peshlakai's / Gorman's) had on her life; and, her experiences as an undergraduate (in the 1950s) at UNM.

Abstract

Shirley Arviso Ash, a Navajo, was raised in Albuquerque and received her B.S. degree in Biology from the University of New Mexico and a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Weber State (Utah). She is Commissioned Navy Officer, wife of a Ph.D. scientist.
