Scope and Contents

Abstract: 10/10/2013. In tape 1, Roanhorse discusses his early life and social challenges within the Navajo Nation. He begins talking about the political position and issues that are unique to the Navajo Nation. In tape 2, he relates the history and government politics to his academic interests and shares his experience in working as an intern in Washington D.C. for Senator Bingaman. He then discusses how his academic life influenced his professional life and his involvement in tribal government.

Abstract

Sherrick Roanhorse (Diné) graduated from UNM with dual degrees in English and Political Science in 2006. Sherrick has worked as the Chief of Staff for the Navajo Nation Office of the President and Vice President. He was policy analyst for the New Mexico Dept. of Indian Affairs. He was also the Executive Staff Assistant for the Navajo Nation Office of the Vice President.
