Abstract: 6/6/2012, 6/8/2012, 7/8/2012. In this interview Anselm Davis Jr. discusses his time as president of KIVA Club, their work with Nizhoni Days and his views on activism. He details his experience transitioning to UNM and other universities, including Northern Arizona University and Penn State. He also explains his professional work in Washington D. C. and developing curriculum for Navajo Nation. He spends a significant portion of the interview discussing the Native American inferiority complex and how traditional teachings can help realign challenges Native Americans face in terms of identity.

Abstract
Anselm G. Davis is Navajo and Choctaw from Luckachuki, NM. He is one of the original Kiva Club members at UNM. He graduated from UNM with his Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Arts Education, with a minor in Anthropology in 1962. He received his master’s degree from NAU in Vocational/Technical Education and his Ed.D in educational administration at Penn State. He served as the Executive Director of the White House Initiative on Tribal Colleges and Universities, appointed by George W. Bush in 2008.
