 File — Box: 1, Folder: 10

Scope and Content

From the Collection: This is an eclectic collection of material produced by Dick Stewart. Stewart was guitarist for King Richard and the Knights, one of Albuquerque’s leading garage bands in the 60s. He was also editor of The Lance. The collection contains digital files of the 1960s issues/scrapbook of The Lance and paper issues/scrapbook materials from The Lance Monthly, 2004. The Lance reported on local and national music events, emphasizing the local rock and roll/garage band scene of the mid-1960s, focusing on artists of the Southwest (Albuquerque, Phoenix, Tucson, Santa Fe, Las Cruces).

Jyck Ball Roundup newsletters document East Mountain (Albuquerque, NM) softball leagues. Stewart's weather scrapbook contains daily, local weather observations with regional, national, and world briefs including detailed Pacific and Atlantic summaries plus specifics on the drought of 1996 and its many western forest fires.
