Scope and Content

From the Collection: The collection documents Mila Murray’s career teaching music, primarily employing the Robert Pace method. Included are articles she wrote about teaching, lesson assignments, class outlines, annotated textbooks as well as correspondence and associated materials. Murray’s Santa Fe Piano Conservatory teaching materials and materials associated with the New Mexico Women Composers’ Guild are included.

Murray was consultant / clinician for Dr. Robert Pace and used his books for her classes, her teacher’s copies of the books are filled with marginalia amplifying or clarifying the texts. Books include: “Music For Piano" by Robert Pace (levels I through VI) and their companion books, “Skills and Drills".
