Scope and Content
From the Collection:
The collection consists of transaction records for residential property in Albuquerque and farm and ranch properties around the state of New Mexico. Residential records are on microfilm; farm and ranch records are paper. Records contain variable amounts of information. The more complete files include listing information fact sheets, photos, maps, contracts, correspondence, warranty deeds, notes, appraisal information, promotional materials including Tract Talk, the newsletter of Brown Realty. Individual files include varying amounts of the above types of information. The collection provides an interesting snapshot of the real estate market in Albuquerque and in New Mexico for the 1970s to 1980s. It also provides a glimpse into land use/ownership, marketing tools, and economics at the time.
