This ramo was named after scribe Ygnacio Martínez de Soria who, along with Pedro José Negreiros, created many of the documents included in the collection. The office of Soria was made up of royal scribes who had responsibility for proceedings of the royal Court.
Documents from the royal court scribes - founding of the town of Carrizal, Chihuahua. Settlers were from El Paso. Discussion of towns planned for El Paso area, 1758, troops and cannon for El Paso. Warning about foreigners among the Indians of the Gila River and Colorado River area, 1760. People - Manuel Antonio San Juan, captain and chief justice of Presidio of Paso del Rio del Norte; Tomas Velez Capuchin, governor of New Mexico; Manuel Villaverde Mantillas, lieutenant captain. Places - Carrizal, Presidio of Pilar, El Paso.
