The collection contains the recorded Spanish song, “No Hay Cosa Como La Madre,” composed in 1985 by Frank Mares and Bruna Valencia Mares of Albuquerque to honor Frank’s mother. The musical accompaniment is by Roberto Martinez and Los Reyes de Albuquerque. The song was published in 1989.
Side one is the instrumental rendition; side two is presented as a poem with instrumental background. The song is in rounded continuous binary form. The music is in the mariachi style with typical mariachi instrumentation, and is in a triple meter.
Sheet music and song text in Spanish and English, as well as a bumper sticker with the title of the song and a letter to Frank V. Mares from the Archdiocese of Santa Fe Catholic Center, Albuquerque, are included in the collection.
