Note: The symposium centered on the work of Dr. Rolando Hinojosa, who talked about his writings, with contributions from UNM faculty and students. Hinojosa was born in 1929 in Mercedes, a town in the lower Rio Grande Valley of Texas. Drawing from his own life experiences, he is a pioneering and celebrated novelist, essayist, poet and professor of English, who focusses on Chicano Latino themes. The event was sponsored by the Departments of American Studies, English and Spanish and Portuguese. Recorded and edited by Enrique Lamadrid.
